This is a message from the Fairfield Office of Emergency Management regarding last week’s flooding event.  Beginning next week, the Township will begin picking up sandbags and bulk flood damaged property only.  

Any resident who has experienced property damage from flood waters is instructed to document this damage with photographs.  The Township’s contracted waste removal company will be picking up these items on the normally scheduled “Bulk Pickup” day starting on Wednesday January 3rd.  Depending on how much needs to be disposed of, your items may be taken on multiple bulk days.  If this is the case, you may leave the items out until the next bulk pickup day.

As a reminder, please only place flood damaged items out on the curb.  Prior to items being picked up, the Township Office of Emergency Management will be surveying the affected areas of town to confirm the items left out for pickup were damaged by flood waters.

As for the used sandbags, please place them out on the curb for pickup by the Township public works department.  This is scheduled to begin on Tuesday January 2^nd.
