On January 3, 2024, at approximately 4:39 AM, deputies assigned to the Ojai Patrol Station responded to a report of a possible commercial burglary in progress at a business located on the 8600 block of North Ventura Avenue in the unincorporated area of Ventura.
Upon arrival, a responding deputy confronted multiple suspects. The suspects entered a vehicle and drove at the deputy. The deputy was struck by a vehicle driven by the suspects, causing significant injury to the deputy. The suspects fled the scene and are still outstanding. The deputy was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and has since been released.
The suspect vehicles used during this incident are described as a light-colored SUV and a dark-colored sedan. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding this ongoing investigation.
