Narrative:
On January 3, 2024, at approximately 4:39 AM, deputies assigned to the Ojai Patrol Station responded to a report of a possible commercial burglary in progress at a business located on the 8600 block of North Ventura Avenue in the unincorporated area of Ventura.
 
Upon arrival, a responding deputy confronted multiple suspects. The suspects entered a vehicle and drove at the deputy.  The deputy was struck by a vehicle driven by the suspects, causing significant injury to the deputy. The suspects fled the scene and are still outstanding. The deputy was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and has since been released.
 
The suspect vehicles used during this incident are described as a light-colored SUV and a dark-colored sedan. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding this ongoing investigation.  Anyone who witnessed, has knowledge of the incident, or has surveillance video of any kind related to this incident is encouraged to contact Sergeant Gonzales at (805) 384-4721.
