Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Loaded Firearms
DATE/TIME: Monday, January 1, 2024, at approximately 8:54 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 25850(A)- Carrying a Loaded Firearm and CVC 12500(A) - Driving Without a License
LOCATION: Highway 62 & Rio Mesa, Big River, CA
SUSPECT(S): Bishap Laurenzana, 23 Years Old, Resident of Yuma, AZ
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, January 1, 2024, at approximately 8:54 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department conducted a traffic stop near Highway 62 and Rio Mesa for vehicle code violations.
During the traffic stop, deputies contacted Bishap Laurenzana who was found to be driving without a license and carrying a loaded firearm in his waistband. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located an additional loaded firearm in the glove compartment.
Bishap Laurenzana, was arrested for CVC 12500(A) - Driving without a License and PC 25850(A)- Carrying a Loaded Firearm. Laurenzana was issued a citation and released at the scene with a future court date.
