Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Burglary Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect, who stole $733 from a victim’s residence on December 27, 2023.
Police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. in the 600 block of North 5th Street. The suspect was captured on surveillance video running away from the victim’s home, where he took the cash from a nightstand in the bedroom before fleeing southbound on North 5th Street. On the surveillance video, the suspect appears to be wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, a blue sweater with a white Champion logo on the front, and sneakers.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
