Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the suspect pictured below, who robbed a gas station attendant of $200 at gunpoint on December 26, 2023.

Police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:52 a.m. at the Millennium Gas Station, located in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue. The suspect, who was driving a stolen BMW bearing New Jersey registration Z29EPU, pulled into the station to get gas. When the attendant began to pump fuel into the vehicle, the suspect exited the car brandishing a weapon, demanding money from the employee. The suspect rifled through his pockets, took the $200, and drove away in the BMW, which was later recovered in the 100 block of Prince Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing black Puma sweatpants with a white stripe running along both sides of his legs, a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue/purple mask, and white sneakers.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward. #newarknj #publicsafety #police #community #partnership #newjersey #cops #tips #CrimeStoppers
