Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspects in connection with two armed robberies that occurred on Monday, January 1, 2024.

At approximately 4:10 a.m., a man walking in the 100 block of Walnut Street was approached by four male suspects who exited a white, 4-door 2020 Honda Civic with tinted windows. The suspects demanded the victim’s belongings at knifepoint, taking his cell phone, wallet, and car keys before fleeing in the suspect vehicle, where another suspect was the driver.

Detectives investigating this incident have determined that the suspects also committed a second knife-point robbery in the 300 block of Walnut Street. Police are seeking the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects, each described as African-American.

Suspect No. 1 is described as in his teens, 5’10” tall with a dark complexion, and wearing a white skull cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and gray pants. Suspect No. 2 is 5’7” tall with a thin build and medium brown complexion, wearing gray pants, a hooded sweatshirt, a vest, sneakers, and a ski mask. Suspect No. 3 is described as 6-ft, tall with a light complexion and a thin build. He was wearing all-black clothing and a ski mask. Suspect No. 4 is 6-ft. tall with a heavyset build and a dark complexion. He was wearing all dark-colored clothing. No description was observed for the driver of the suspect vehicle.
