Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., Police responded to a call of shots fired at the 700 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Responding officers did not locate a victim, but found three spent shell casings in the area.
Detectives investigating this incident observed area surveillance camera footage depicting a male suspect shooting a handgun at another male. The victim ran westbound on Spruce Street while the suspect fled northbound on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
Police seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect. He was wearing a black mask, blue jeans, a black jacket, and white sneakers.
