WEATHER ADVISORY FROM MONROE TWP. OEM
The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the coastal storm which will arrive in our area on Saturday and continue into Sunday. There is also another storm system heading our way which is likely to impact our area next Tuesday & Wednesday and according to the weather forecasters, that storm will likely bring heavy rain and strong winds.
At this time it appears that this weekend’s storm is expected to bring a wintry mix to our area which could include rain, light snow, ice and wind. Flooding is also a possibility. If snow does start to accumulate, please do not park your vehicles in the roadway so that our Township DPW snowplows can properly clear the roads of snow and salt them.
Please also avoid any unnecessary travel and report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS
In case of any emergency, please dial 911!
Safety Tips:
- Please drive cautiously and adjust your speed for the changing road conditions (drive at or below the speed limit).
- Remember to remove all snow and ice from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows and roof; It is the law in New Jersey.
- Always assume that all downed power lines are live!
- If you come across a flooded roadway, please don't drive through it. Turn around and report it to the police department.
- Secure all outdoor furniture, garbage cans & lawn decorations by tying them down or bring them inside.
