* WHAT...Snow accumulations 12 to 18 inches above 6,000 feet. Total snow 6 to 12 inches from 4,000 feet to 6,000 feet. The majority of this snow will fall this evening. Winds will gust as high as 60 mph on exposed ridgetops and near the crest.
* WHERE...The Sierra Nevada.
* WHEN...Valid from 12 PM PST Saturday afternoon until 4 AM PST Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to nearly impossible. Patchy blowing snow will significantly reduce visibilities. Strong winds may cause tree damage. The cold wind chills as low as 20 degrees below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow and wind will adversely impact the evening commute.
