INDIANAPOLIS-IMPD detectives arrested 32-year-old Jomal Tyler for his alleged role in a shooting investigation that left the victim in critical condition.
On Saturday, January 6, 2023, just after 1:00 a.m., IMPD East District officers responded to the 2900 block of N. Euclid Avenue on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult female who sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition.
IMPD homicide and aggravated assault detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. While officers were on the scene, a person of interest was identified and detained. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence.
Detectives continued their investigation and arrested Tyler for his alleged role. Tyler was charged with attempted murder. Detectives believed this was an isolated incident.
An arrest is merely an accusation. The suspect should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The MCPO will make the final charging decision.
