* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Snow will overspread the area Monday evening and end Tuesday night. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches. Winds gusting up to 40 mph Tuesday night into Wednesday morning potentially leading to blowing and drifting snow.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snow will come in two rounds, with a mix of snow and rain in between, during the day on Tuesday. This period of mix could cause some of the snow on the ground to melt before the second round moves through Tuesday night, making accumulations appear to be less.
