Please be advised that the forecast is calling for a significant rain event of 2-4 inches starting today, January 10, 2024. Coupled with the warming temperatures causing melting snow, please expect flooding in flood prone areas.  Weather experts are stating that this weather event will cause flooding at least similar to, if not worse than, prior flooding events that occurred in mid-December. Most streams, creeks, and rivers, are already at higher than normal levels. It is anticipated that we will reach flood stage levels very quickly.    
Please take every precaution necessary prior to the impending storm.  Cars should be moved to adjacent streets and downtown parking will be suspended on the day of the storm and re-evaluated thereafter.  Please be sure to follow all signs and detours throughout the day.  Police, Fire and EMS will already be tasked with calls for assistance so please do not add to them by attempting to drive through the water.  If anyone needs assistance or is confronted with an emergency situation, please contact the Denville Police 973-627-4900.  Thank you.
