The Fairfield Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the Passaic River in preparation for Winter Storm Finn and the associated rainfall.

At this time, the National Weather Service is predicting rain to begin on Tuesday 1/9 and continue into early Wednesday morning, with the heaviest precipitation predicted to fall Tuesday evening.   Currently, the river is expected to reach 21'9" by 1am, Thursday morning. We are expecting major flooding if these levels are reached.

The Township will be opening a sandbag station at the Fairfield Public Library.  This will be open for residents only starting today at 4pm.

The Fairfield Office of Emergency Management is continuing to monitor the forecast should any of these predictions change.  Please do not put out any additional debris from the last flood at this time.  Updates will be provided as necessary.
