Another impactful storm to bring heavy rain/strong winds Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning
A powerful storm will impact the area Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning with heavy rain and strong winds.
It has been extremely wet the last 30 days and the stage is set for heavy rain to cause significant flooding issues. Rain builds through tomorrow and the heaviest will come during the evening. Much of the 2-4" storm total will take place in a 6-hour window (6 PM - 12 AM).
In addition, to the widespread nature of stream/creek flooding, the rain comes as heavy downpours during that timeframe and many roads will be impacted. This is going to be similar to the December 17-18 flooding event. Also, note that wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph out of the southeast do get strong enough that scattered power outages (and some downed trees) can occur Tuesday evening thru the first half of the overnight.
To report an outage by phone, call PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734) or use their web chat feature at pseg.com/myaccount.
Please use caution while driving tomorrow evening.
