Police Seek Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a package theft that occurred on Friday, January 5, 2024.
A victim reported that a package was delivered to a residence in the area of Vailsburg Terrace and South Munn Avenue at approximately 10:41 a.m. and was stolen minutes later by a male suspect who left a case of water on the steps of the residence before taking the delivered package.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as wearing green cargo pants, a FedEx jacket, and a blue winter hat with lettering. The suspect fled after walking to the corner of Vailsburg Terrace and South Munn Avenue where a bicycle was stationed. He may be posing as a delivery worker from various businesses.
