LOCAL FORECAST (from WeatherWorks) -
Rain arrives later this morning, starting off light but getting steadier toward sunset. The bulk of heavy rain from this event occurs tonight through midnight before lessening Wednesday AM. This storm will bring an impressive 3"+ across the area, a bulk of which falls in a 6 hour window. Flooding issues are expected and should be widespread, with some more significant issues as well. Streams/creeks will exceed their banks and some rivers will run high...cresting into moderate flood stage by Wednesday afternoon. Flood Impacts will be similar to the previous storm we had in mid-December. In addition to rain, winds will increase and gust over 50 mph at night. This adds a downed tree/branch and power outage concern. The rest of the week is quieter, with unfortunately another soaking rain event for Friday night into Saturday
We will provide updates throughout the storm on conditions around the Township. Monitor us on NIxle, Instagram (@SoBrunswickPD) and X fo(@SoBrunswickPD).
