TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Today’s Heavy Rain May Produce Flooding

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reports that due to anticipated heavy rainfall, many streets may be flooded and should be avoided by drivers.
 
Rain is expected to begin after 1 p.m. with wind gusts as high as 32 mph. Tonight, heavy rain is expected to continue until 4 a.m. on Wednesday with wind gusts as high as 55 mph.
 
The listed locations should be avoided by drivers due to the potential for flooding.
 
The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding conditions, and other weather-related incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire, and Office of Emergency Management Personnel. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials.
