Storm to Bring Heavy Rain, Flooding and High Winds
Today's weather forecast has resulted in The Governor declaring a State of Emergency beginning at 5pm. Travel should be limited during the evening and overnight hours. Should you have to travel, please do not drive around barricades or attempt to travel through flooded roadways.
FORECAST:
Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is possible later today and tonight with the heaviest rain falling later this afternoon and this evening. The ground remains saturated and excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks and streams.
Sustained wind speeds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph from the southeast are expected and may cause downed trees and power lines resulting in power outages.
To report a power outage by phone, call 1-800-436-PSEG (7734) or text "OUT" TO 4PSEG (47734) - Register your phone first by texting "REG" to 4PSEG.
To reduce flooding potential, please clear storm drains prior to the storm's arrival.
We will provide updates throughout the storm on conditions and road closures. Follow us on Facebook (Princeton NJ Police Department), Instagram (@princetonnjpd) and Nixle.
