Flood Advisory until 03:00PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following counties, Burke and McDowell.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas throughout the Upper Catawba Basin.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1026 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Hunting Creek in Morganton will continue to develop out of bank conditions into the afternoon. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
