Read here about the impending storm and how to prepare. Click here

WIth the impending storm, here are some tips and ways you can prepare. With the heaviest rain from 6pm to midnight, stay off the roads as they can become flooded and messy with the melting snow.  Flooding is expected by the Passaic and Rockaway Rivers.  Flash flooding is also possible with the 2-4 inches of rain plus the snow on the ground.  Sand and sandbags are available for filling at the Montville Dog Park.  The DPW is working hard to clean catch basins to reduce street flooding.  If you are able to clear any catch basins in your neighborhood, this will assist in reducing steet flooding.  There is an expectation of high winds.  Do no leave any vulnerable objects outside that may cause injury or damage if airbourne.  If garbage pickup is cancelled on Wednesday or Thursday, a Nixle will be sent out.  If power is loss, ensure any portable generators are far enough away (20')  from your house to prevent a fire or Co2 poisoning. Do not call 911 unless you have an emergency.  Any power outages should be reported to JCP&L, not the police department.

Instructions:

Prepare for excessive rain, wind and possible loss of power.
