Significant Weather Event
With the possibility of 2-3 inches of rain falling and snow melt from the previous snowstorm, flooding, especially in low lying areas and adjacent to waterways, will be likely.
Winds of 22-30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph will likely result in downed trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.
This event will start in the afternoon and become more significant into tomorrow night.
Please be prepared for possible power outages. Have batteries and flashlights accessible. Ensure phones are on full charge.
Please use caution when using alternate heating sources.
Please ensure drains are clear and free of debris. Areas prone to high water and flooding as well as low lying areas are expected to flood. Please prepare accordingly.
An aditional heavy rain storm is forecast going into this weekend.
The Wappingers Falls Police, Fire, Highway Departments as well as the Dutchess County Department of Emeregency Response have been making the appropriate response contingencies and are in communication to prepare for this event.
