* WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Cherokee and Clay and east Tennessee, including the following counties, Blount, Monroe and Polk.
* WHEN...Until 600 PM EST.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to drain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1205 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated gauges indicated heavy rain and stream flooding. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
