Local Update Weather Forecast (by WeatherWorks)
Ongoing rain gets steadier through the day, with the bulk of the heaviest after sunset and lingering into the evening. Peak rates likely happen late evening and around midnight, as a possible embedded squall arrives.
Afterward, the rain quickly tapers off to just some lingering light showers. In all, this is going to be a very impactful event. While we do likely see roadway ponding and low-lying/drainage issues, the more significant issues will be around streams and creeks. Many will exceed their banks, flooding our roads and threatening nearby properties.
In addition to the rain, gusts will increase today, peaking again in the evening in the 50 - 55mph range. Some downed trees/branches and power outages are likely in conjunction with saturated grounds.
