**Update- The device located at Tech High was determined to be safe by Sonoma County Sheiffs Office EOD team, It was removed from the campus. Students are no longer advised to shelter in place and classes will resume.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is currently at Tech High School investigating a suspicious device that was located on school grounds by a staff member and brought to the front office. At this time the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office EOD team is assisting with our investigation. As a precaution, students have been asked to shelter in place and there is currently no risk to the students on campus. Please do not call our Dispatch center asking for an update. RPDPS will send an update with more info as it becomes available.
