Flood Warning until 11:00AM Wednesday

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northern West Virginia, including the following counties, Pocahontas and Randolph.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is expected this evening and overnight. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall, combined with runoff from snowmelt. County road 39 near Mill Creek is particularly vulnerable to flooding this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 412 PM EST, Flooding of creeks and streams is expected from a result of heavy rains earlier today, and runoff from snow melt. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elkins, Mill Creek, Dailey, Snowshoe, Mingo, Beverly, Huttonsville, Harman, Cheat Bridge, Valley Head, Glady, Monterville, Bowden, Slaty Fork and Dryfork. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
