Flood Warning extended until 8PM for McDowell County due to high water on the Catawba River. 
FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive runoff is lingering.
* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the
following counties, Burke and McDowell.
* WHEN...Until 800 PM EST.
* IMPACTS...It will take several hours for all the water from these
storms to work through local drainage systems.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 434 PM EST, The Catawba River from around Pleasant Gardens
to Lake Rhodhiss will remain out of it's bank in spots into
the evening. The river level at the gage near Pleasant
Gardens is cresting and will slowly fall this evening.
This areal flood warning replaces the flash flood warning for
McDowell and Burke Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
