Storm Update: Heavy rain, strong winds & road flooding - Monroe Twp. Schools operating on a 2-hour delay tomorrow.
Please be advised that heavy rain & strong winds are expected to continue to impact Monroe Township through the early morning hours.
The Monroe Township School District will be operating on a 2-hour delay for Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
The following roadways are currently affected:
1. Federal Road is closed between Perrineville Rd. and England Rd. due to a tree and wires across the roadway.
2. Spotswood Englishtown Rd. has minor flooding in the area of Ashmall Ave.
Power Outages:
Currently there are approximately 24 residences without power in the area of Federal Rd. and England Rd. and JCP&L is already on location.
Please avoid any unnecessary travel and allow extra travel time for your Wednesday morning commute. Report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS
Safety Tips:
- Always assume that all downed power lines are live!
- If you come across a flooded roadway, please don't drive through it. Turn around and report it to the police department.
- Secure all outdoor furniture, garbage cans & lawn decorations by tying them down or bring them inside.
- Do not use your gas stove to heat your home!
- Only use generators outdoors and away from windows.
