* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Georgia, including the following county, Habersham.
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Common, deeper flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to area streams is ongoing with lesser impacts to vulnerable property. Expect extensive flooding of farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, and golf courses. Inundation may be several feet deep. Other flood-prone areas will be impacted including low-lying roadways, low-water crossings, underpasses, and parking lots.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 927 PM EST, The Soque River crested at 6:30pm at 15.74 feet, but remains elevated above the Minor Flood Stage of 14.0 feet following earlier heavy rainfall. Therefore the Flood Warning will be extended into late Thursday morning to allow the river to fully recede back below bankfull. The following streamgauge is above Minor Flood Stage, resulting in Minor Flooding along Soque River... ID: CSQG1 NAME: at GA 197 in Clarksville CURRENT STAGE: 15.19 feet ACTION/ADVISORY STAGE: 11.0 feet MINOR FLOOD STAGE: 14.0 feet CREST: 15.74 feet on January 9 at 6:30 PM TREND: Falling steadily ESTIMATED FORECAST: The Soque River will fall below Minor Flood Stage shortly after midnight, then continue to fall below Action/Advisory Stage sometime Thursday morning. IMPACTS: At 12-14 feet, portions Pitts City Park will be flooded by 1-3 feet of floodwaters. - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
