Flood Warning until 10:00AM

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and southern New Hampshire, including the following counties, in central New Hampshire, Merrimack and Strafford. In southern New Hampshire, Hillsborough and Rockingham.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from rain and ongoing snowmelt. It will take several hours for all the water from the storm to work through local drainage systems, particularly in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 340 AM EST, Rain and snowmelt is occurring, and will cause flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen and snow is beginning to melt out. The cumulative runoff will cause flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas, particularly in urban areas. Small streams will also respond quickly and stream crossings could flood as they come out of banks. - Travel during the morning commute will likely be impacted by flooded roads. The danger is elevated prior to sunrise when it may be difficult to recognize flooded roads. Never drive into flooded roads, turn around don't drown. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Manchester, Nashua, Concord, Derry, Rochester, Merrimack, Portsmouth, Hampton, Durham and Exeter.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HILLSBOROUGH, NH ... MERRIMACK, NH ... ROCKINGHAM, NH ... STRAFFORD, NH

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
