Police Seek Help Identifying Shooting Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male in connection with a shooting that occurred on Monday, January 1, 2024.
At approximately 4:05 a.m., Police responded to University Avenue and Campbell Street on a call of a shooting. Responding officers did not locate any victims, but found ballistic evidence of four spent 9mm cartridges and one live round in the area.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in identifying the pictured suspect, described as approximately 5’10” tall and 175 pounds with a dark complexion. He was wearing a military fatigue vest with a security badge affixed to his lapel. The suspect fled the scene in a black 4-door BMW.
