Police Seek Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male in connection with a package theft that occurred on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Between 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., a male suspect carrying a black trash bag opened the gate of a residence at Maybaum Avenue, near Tremont Avenue, and removed delivered packages. The suspect put the packages inside the trash bag before fleeing, walking southbound on Maybaum Avenue towards Tremont Avenue.
One of the stolen packages contained a CPAP Machine, valued at $2,000.00.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in identifying the pictured suspect, described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dark-brown boots.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
