Storm Response Update - Road Closures
Since the beginning of the storm 18 hours ago, The Police Department, Fire Departments, and Public Works have responded to numerous calls for service. South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management also worked through the night to coordinate efforts and secure assistance as needed.
Road closures due to flooding, trees and utility poles down, and wires in the roadway were safely facilitated and staffed. Public Works worked diligently through the night and all day to cut and remove dozens of trees, and calls were made to utility companies to attempt to restore power to those who lost power during the storm. Progress has been made, and SBPD, Township OEM, and Public Works are continuing to do what needs to be done to restore our Township to full service with no road closures.
The following roadways remain closed to traffic at this time, due to trees and wires down in the roadways:
- Riva Avenue at Davidsons Mill Road
- East New Road between Ridge Road and Monica Way
- White Pine Road between Davidsons Mill Road and Church Lane
