Winter Weather Advisory until 05:00PM Thursday

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts up to 18 inches over the eastern San Juans and favored slopes. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Southwest San Juan Mountains.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM MST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, especially on ridge tops. The cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. A detailed map of the snowfall can be found at: www.weather.gov/gjt/winter.
