Winter Storm Watch until 01:00PM Saturday
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches possible. Winds gusting in excess of 50 mph.
* WHERE...St. Clair, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties.
* WHEN...From Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Gusty winds may bring down snow covered tree branches resulting in scattered power outages. Blowing snow may reduce visibilities to below one mile at times.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Uncertainty exists regarding the northward progress of the rain/snow line Friday afternoon and evening which greatly impacts total snow amounts. Confidence has increased in a changeover from snow to rain, but the timing of this remains highly variable. Snowfall rates are expected to peak near one inch per hour Friday afternoon before changing over to rain by Friday evening. High temperatures will climb into the mid-upper 30s. Very strong winds are expected late Friday night into Saturday with gusts of in excess of 50 mph as arctic air filters in behind the system sending wind chill values close to zero.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ST. CLAIR ... OAKLAND ... WASHTENAW
