WINTER STORM FRIDAY: Snow - Wind - Significant Travel Impacts Statewide

  • What:  Heavy Snow with accumulations of 8 to 12 inches or greater. Wind gusts Friday afternoon-night 30 to 40 mph resulting in Blowing/Drifting and localized white-out conditions possible.  Dangerous Wind Chills after the storm into next week.
  • Where:  Entire area. Heaviest snow mostly south of I-90
  • Timing:  Snow spreads in overnight, falls heaviest on Friday, and moves out later Saturday morning. 
  • Potential Impacts:  Dangerous travel conditions. Reduced visibilities and white-out conditions at times. Sporadic power outages.

A dangerous winter storm will impact the region from late tonight into Saturday morning. Heavy snow with accumulations upwards of a foot are expected, with the bulk of that snow falling Friday. Winds start to crank up by Friday evening, gusting from 30 to 40 mph into Saturday morning. Blowing and drifting snow will result, with localized white-out conditions possible. 

Hazardous to potentially dangerous travel should be planned for. Consider altering, delaying or cancelling any travel plans you have.
