WEATHER ALERT

While tonight’s storm will not contain as much of a punch in terms of rainfall totals as the system earlier this week did, it will be enough to revive flooding issues given sensitive conditions across the area. Rain will begin to build this evening, with the heaviest activity likely setting in as we get towards Midnight and onwards. With the lower totals, this will likely be more of a stream and creek, and eventual river flooding issue with poor drainage or roadway issues setting up to be in typical prone areas and areas near streams and creeks. The heaviest rain tapers down to lingering showers in the pre-dawn and exits Saturday morning. This then gives way to the river flooding concern, with many rivers in the area reaching into Minor to lower end Moderate flood stage during the day on Saturday. On top of rain and flooding concerns, gusty winds will begin to increase tonight and remain elevated into tomorrow, which can allow for a few downed trees & limbs.

Con Ed customers can report downed power lines, outages, and check service restoration status at www.conEd.com or by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). Please do not call the Police Department to report loss of power. This potentially ties up telephone lines available for emergencies and you will be referred to contact Con Ed directly. Treat all downed wires as if they are live. Be mindful that downed wires can be hidden from view by tree limbs, leaves, or snow. 

In the event of life threatening emergencies, dial 911. Call North Castle Police at 914-273-9500 for any non-life threatening matters, traffic issues, downed trees, etc.
