Sergeant Greaves Graduates Leadership Course, San Andreas

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office proudly congratulates Sergeant DeAyrian Greaves on completing the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI). This remarkable achievement, which occurred on December 10th with Sergeant Greaves among just 18 students in her graduating class, demonstrates her dedication to personal and professional excellence in law enforcement.
The SLI is a rigorous program developed by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). It is designed to enhance leadership, ethical decision-making, and personal growth among law enforcement supervisors in California. Established in 1988, the program is known for its experiential learning techniques that challenge participants to explore innovative ways of problem-solving and decision-making. The course is an eight-month program with eight 24-hour sessions totaling 192 hours. Students are required to read several books, author papers, and projects and make presentations.
Sergeant Greaves commented, "The training has profoundly helped me to grow. It's not just about the skills I've gained but also about how I can positively impact our community with this knowledge."
Sergeant Greaves' successful completion of the program reflects her dedication to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement. Her enhanced skills in management, leadership, and ethical decision-making will undoubtedly benefit the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office and the community it serves. She will be key in supporting and developing her peers and subordinates, integrating management skills with leadership qualities.
Moreover, her increased ability to analyze issues from multiple perspectives will contribute to the effective handling of the complex challenges faced by modern law enforcement agencies.
Sergeant Greaves' accomplishment in the SLI program reflects the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office's commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. Her enhanced skills and knowledge will contribute to the office's ability to provide superior public safety services.
