5th Precinct patrol officers received a call of a man armed with a handgun in the 1000 block of Bergen Street. Officers responded and observed a male who fit the description provided by the caller. When the suspect became aware of Police presence, he fled prompting a foot pursuit. The suspect was apprehended in the area at Harding Terrace and found in possession of a .40 caliber handgun and marijuana. 5th Precinct Commander Captain Wilson said, “This incident is a true testament to community and police working together.
