The Janesville Police Department announces the hiring of seven police officers that started January 8^th.  The seven officers were sworn in during a ceremony on January 15^th.
 
Officer Devin W. Bebar is from Shorewood, IL. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2022. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Bebar recently worked for the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Crest Hill IL.
 
Officer Kaleb R. Dix is from Janesville, WI. He graduated from University of Wisconsin Rock County with an Associate Degree in Psychology in 2019. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Dix recently worked for Helicopter Specialties in Janesville.
 
Officer Ross M. Fitzgerald is from Janesville, WI. He graduated from University of Wisconsin Platteville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2023. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Fitzgerald recently worked for the Janesville Police Department as a Community Service Specialist.
 
Officer Avery A. Hanel is from Janesville, WI. He graduated from University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2023. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Hanel recently worked for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
 
Officer Andrew J. Hegle is from Janesville, WI. He graduated from Blackhawk Technical College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in 2023. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Hegle recently worked for the Mocha Moments in Janesville.
 
Officer Rebecca C. Scerbicke is from Lake in the Hills, IL. She graduated from University of Montana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology in 2023. She will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Scerbicke recently worked for the Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Montana.
 
Officer Chase J. Ziegelbauer is from Janesville, WI. He graduated from University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2013. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in January 2024. Officer Ziegelbauer recently worked for the Rock County Communications Center.
