Please avoid any unnecessary travel this morning as early light snow continues across the area, with temps in the lower 20s across the area. Our partners at North Castle Highway Department have been out all night to keep up with the storm, and avoiding unnecessary travel on the roadways will ensure they can stay ahead of the storm. Some additional pavement coverage is expected over the next few hours as snow maintains a generally light and manageable intensity, with a few brief "breaks" not ruled out. All in all, another inch or two of fluffy snow is expected before sleet, and perhaps even some pockets of freezing rain mix in later on in the morning. This wintry mix can even lull a bit through the early afternoon before all precipitation finally comes to an end around 2 - 4 PM (few flurries can linger). Temperatures will steadily fall behind this system tonight, with any wet or slushy areas freezing up overnight.
