INCIDENT: PC-29800(a)(1) - Felon In Possession of a Firearm, H&S 11351 - Possession of a Controlled Substance For Sale and H&S 11352(A) - Transportation Controlled Substance
LOCATION: 3rd Street and I Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Michael Montoya, 34-years-old, Resident of Sante Fe, NM
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Saturday, January 13, 2024, at approximately 11:58 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department, contacted Michael Montoya during a traffic stop near 3rd Street and I Street. During the course of the investigation, Montoya was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. Montoya is a felon and is prohibitited from being in possession of a firearm. Montoya was also found to be in possession of narcotics and narcotics for sale.
Montoya was consequently arrested for the above charges and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Montoya remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
