INCIDENT: Report of Possible Battery

SUMMARY: On January 12, 2024, at approximately 3:56 p.m., a witness reported to the Phelan Sheriff’s Station having seen a possible battery occur in the bed of a pickup truck they saw driving on Palmdale Road in Adelanto. A deputy contacted the witness at 4:11 p.m. to obtain additional information on the incident. The witness was able to provide a description of the truck and a partial license plate number.
Through continued investigation, deputies located the pickup truck and contacted the registered owner. The owner told deputies she had let a friend borrow her truck on January 12th so he could move his belongings. The owner was not able to provide the friend’s last name, where he lived, or any additional information. She was unaware of any incident or video involving her truck.
