Hazard: Teton County, Wyoming may see some regional telecommunication outages this evening due to flooding of some telecommunication infrastructure. This has the greatest potential to impact landline telephone calls and other networks that may depend on landline phone lines.

Location and Consequences: This will potentially impact all of Teton County, Wyoming, Bondurant, Wyoming, and into northern Lincoln County, Wyoming. This may mean that phone calls cannot be completed and data systems that depend on that telephone infrastructure may go down.

Protective Action: Take steps now to let family and friends know you may lose the ability to communicate with them tonight. The telephone company is currently rerouting Teton County's 9-1-1 lines to Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Kemmerer as a precaution and to help fix the system. Only call 9-1-1 if it is an emergency. DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 TO TEST THE SYSTEM. If you have an emergency and cannot complete a call to 9-1-1 tonight, try 307-413-1414, BUT ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES.

Protective Action Time: Now through Thursday January 18, 2024

Expiration Time: Unknown for certain, but at least through the night of Wednesday January 17, 2024 through Thursday January 18, 2024
