Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Two Newark Men Wanted for Questioning in Shooting Investigation

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with locating Quincy Moody, 26, and his brother, Jermaine Moody, 23, both of Newark, who are wanted for questioning in a shooting incident on January 13, 2024. 

Police responded to reports of a shooting in progress that occurred at approximately 10:29 p.m. in the 800 block of South 19th Street. At that location, officers recovered two 9mm shell casings – one in the street and the other on the property of a home. Officers continued to search the area and located a handgun on the front seat of a white 2005 BMW that didn’t have a license plate. 
 
Quincy Moody, a Black male, is 6’1” and 253 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium brown complexion. Jermaine Moody, also a Black male, is 5’7” and 155 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium brown complexion. 
  
Director Fragé urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of Quincy and Jermaine Moody to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
