On the evening of January 13th 2024, Hardeeville officers responded to a shooting at the Deluxe Inn on Whye Hardee Blvd. The victim, who was shot in the torso, was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for injuries. Hardeeville Investigators were able to make a positive identification of the suspect that night and were able to obtain warrants on the suspect by the following morning. January 18th 2024, Joseph Latroy Johnson was located, and arrested by Hardeeville Police Department and the Jasper County Sheriffs Office. He has been charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Voilent Crime, Discharging a Firearm within City Limits, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Possession of Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Dustribute Methamphetamines, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl We would like to thank our community for your support during this incident.
