Investigation Reveals Two Suspects were Involved in Conspiracy, Fraud and Theft; Both Arrested

LOCATION: 23800 Block of Skyland Dr., Crestline, CA
SUSPECT(S): Ashley Dunkin, 23-years-old Female Resident of Crestline and Casey Bennett, 32-year-old Male Resident of San Diego
VICTIM(S): Several Confidential
SUMMARY: Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Twin Peaks Station were investigating identity thefts in the Crestline area within the last three weeks. As part of an extensive investigation, detectives determined Ashley Dunkin and Casey Bennett to be the suspects involved in these crimes.
On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, personnel from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Twin Peaks Station, served a search warrant at a residence in Crestline where Dunkin and Bennett were staying. A large amount of stolen identities, mail, and fake checks were recovered during the execution of the search warrant. Equipment used to commit check fraud and identity theft was also recovered.
Dunkin and Bennett were arrested on three felony charges and booked into the Central Detention Center, with bail set at $30,000.
