Weather Advisory - Snow Expected on Friday January 19th (Possibly 2-5 Inches)
More snow is on its way to our area. Light snow showers are expected to start early Friday morning and gradually increase throughout the day. According to weather forecasters, snow accumulations for our area are 2-5 inches.
Monroe Twp. DPW crews are currently brining roads and will begin to salt the roadways during the early morning hours. They will be prepared to plow any accumulating snow. Please assist our DPW by moving all vehicles and garbage cans off the roadways by midnight tonight. This will allow for proper salting and clearing of snow.
Please note that at 1:00 P.M. today the Monroe Township school district announced an early dismissal for Friday 1/19. See Board of Education for information.
Plan on slippery road conditions and please exercise extreme caution when driving.
Safety Tips:
* Remember to remove all snow and ice from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows and roof; It is the law in New Jersey.
* Please drive cautiously and adjust your speed for the changing road conditions.
* Always assume that all downed power lines are live!
Please also avoid any unnecessary travel and allow extra travel time for your Friday morning commute.
Report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS.
