Alert

Snow Friday - 4 to 6 inches, Garbage Pickup Moved to Saturday

WEATHER ALERT

We have another round of snow coming on Friday. The timing of the storm makes it challenging for work and school on Friday. The storm is expected to start around 4 am likely as flurries and a period of light snow, getting steadier through the morning rush before tapering a bit with even some lulls possible around midday. During this first push of snow, it will be cold enough for all surfaces to cover, though residual/treated surfaces can help keep pavements variable. Lighter snow and marginal temperatures midday will likely be manageable with just treatment.

As we head into the late afternoon, however, that likely changes. Colder air filters in and precipitation gets a bit more uniform, allowing pavements to cover and accumulate again. This continues into the early evening before precipitation exits.  Total snowfall 4-6 inches.

Also, watch for another freeze-up of slush and wet surfaces overnight Friday.

GARBAGE PICKUP CANCELED FOR FRIDAY

Due to the impending snow for Friday, January 19th, Republic, our service contractor, has decided to shut down all operations for trash and recycling collection for Friday.  They will be working Saturday to make up the missed work.  Please do not put Friday material out until Saturday by 6 a.m. to not impede the snow plows.

FORECAST

Gusty northwest winds on Saturday will result in bitterly cold wind chills (single digits) and blowing snow. Winds will gradually ease somewhat on Saturday night, but expect an even colder night, with wind chills falling below zero.
