Winter Weather Advisory

***A Message from the #Haledon Office of Emergency Management***

On behalf of Mayor Michael Johnson and Haledon Emergency Management Coordinator Carlos Aymat, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Friday, January 19, 2024, from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Our area is expected to receive 2 to 3 inches of snow and ice.

As a reminder, all snow, including sidewalks and vehicles, must be shoveled within 24 hours after the snowfall. It is strictly prohibited to throw snow in the roadway or to use foreign objects to reserve parking spaces. Violators may be issued a summons. Additionally, leaving animals outside in the cold is considered animal cruelty and can lead to criminal prosecution. Please ensure that pets have adequate shelter and warmth, especially during this period. It's also important to keep fire hydrants clear of snow. Whenever possible, please park in your respective driveways to facilitate safe and effective plowing by the Haledon DPW.

These conditions could potentially impact the morning or evening commute. We urge everyone to slow down and use caution while traveling during this period.

The Haledon Municipal Complex will close at 1:00 PM today, and all State Offices will be closed as well.

Haledon Public School will have an Early Dismissal at 12:30 PM, while Manchester Regional High School will dismiss at 12:16 PM, and Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools at 1:06 PM. Please note that all after-school programs and activities are canceled.

Curbside trash pickup is on schedule.

Thank you for your cooperation, and please stay safe.
