Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun and drug charges.

On January 10, at approximately 7:59 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 300 block of East 8^th Street, when they observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the driver – 28-year-old Jahmai Massey. Following a brief investigation, police determined Massey was wanted on an unrelated matter and took him into custody without incident. Subsequently, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and .112 grams of fentanyl.

Massey has been charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Controlled Substance
